With that in mind we decided to do a small study to see how the stock display in the GBA does, and compare it with the AGS-101 display mod, and then also the newer GBA IPS display mod… and the results are pretty surprising, with the IPS LCD being quite the hungry display. Note: This is the IPS LCD on MAXimum brightness. Dimming the display

As many of you know, the AGS 001's screen kinda sucks big time, I'm wanting to replace it with a AGS-101 screen and I am aware I need a voltage regulator of some kind as well as a brightness controller if I want it to do more than turn on and off with the brightness button on the GBA. Edit: Another way to tell if it is an AGS-101 is look at the color of the casing. The AGS-101 only came in 3 colors: Pearl blue, Pearl pink, and Graphite. Judging by the picture, its either a pearl blue or a silver gameboy. If it's silver then it can't be the 101, but if it is pearl blue it has to be the 101. Question about my gba sp charging light. I recently bought a gba sp ags-101. It works great and I’ve had no problems with anything, except I’m a little confused about something. I’ve had a gba sp ags-001 for as long as I can remember and it’s always worked great. I kinda remember the charging (Orange) light turning off when the system Remobit • 5 yr. ago. imo. It's the GBA SP. AGS-001 if you're sensitive to ghosting. AGS-101 if brightness is your priority. Gameboy Micro is a good middle ground between the two, but not everyone likes the tiny screen. alphageist • 5 yr. ago. My SP's power switch had similiar symptoms with pressure turning off the system. The system would also shut off if you very lighty pushed the power switch towards the off position. I fixed it with an overkill combination of 91% isopropyl alcohol, contact cleaner and some electronic safe canned air. I'm sure just the 91% alcohol itself would fix . 142 201 261 260 131 119 335 259 141
